WELCOME TO JUNE 2023

Image
(MONTH OF FULFILLMENT) Heavenly Father, as we enter this new month, I pray that You fill our hearts with gratitude for the blessings You have bestowed upon us. May we approach each day with a spirit of thankfulness and recognize the beauty in the simple joys of life. Dear God, in this new month of June, I pray for spiritual growth and a deeper relationship with You. Open our hearts and minds to receive Your word and grant us a hunger for Your truth. Help us to draw closer to You and to experience Your presence in our lives. Above all, Lord, I pray for a deepening of our relationship with You. Draw us closer to Your heart and fill us with Your Spirit. Help us to cultivate a consistent prayer life and to spend time in Your Word. Teach us to listen to Your voice and to follow Your leading. May our love for You grow stronger each day and may our life be a testimony of Your goodness and grace.  I commit this month of June into Your loving hands, trusting that You will go before us and...

TEACH US TO PRAY

Image
Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased,  that  one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” *Luke 11 : 1) None of us just wake up one day as a prayer warrior; we learn to pray. The disciples saw very clearly what was happening in the ministry of Jesus. They saw Him walking on water after He had spent the night in prayer. They noticed that when He prayed, the fishes and the loaves were multiplied and fed thousands. They heard what He said when He drove out a demon—that “this kind” only comes out when you fast and pray. If the disciples knew they needed to learn to pray, don’t you think we should learn, too? How was it that Christ had the confidence to say, “He who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do” (John 14:12)? He could say that because He taught the disciples to pray. When you learn to pray like Jesus prayed, and you learn to walk in...

PRAYER IS.......

Image
“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool." (Isaiah 1 : 18) Most people consider prayer to be like a drive-through window. It’s where they pull up and don’t have time to stay, but they want to make sure their order gets in and they get just what they want before they rush away. They pull up to heaven, and God says, “Welcome to McHeaven. May I take your order, please?” As sad as that sounds, that’s what a lot of people think about prayer. The first thing they...and we...need to know about prayer is that prayer is not a monologue; prayer is a dialogue. Prayer is not where I speak and God listens. It’s where God and I have a conversation. Not only do I get the opportunity to speak to Him, but God very dearly wants to speak to me. Prayer is how we invite the supernatural presence of the Almighty to invade our life. Prayer is where we take time to lea...

MAY HE FIND YOU

Image
"Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven" (Acts 1 : 11) Since the day that Jesus ascended, disappearing in the clouds over Jerusalem, the eyes of believers have scoured the sky. Could this be the day that Jesus Christ returns in glory? Even though the world and the church – even Jesus Himself – do not know the day or the hour when He will return, we can be assured, now more than ever before, that Jesus is coming soon. When He comes, may He find you faithful. When He comes, may He find you working in the fields to bring souls to salvation. When He comes, may He find you shining His light and His love. When He comes, may He find you serving one another with gladness. Until He comes, child of God, put on the whole armor of God. Stand for right in the day of evil. Tear down anything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. When the world ta...

GOD SEES YOUR HEART

Image
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For  the LORD   does  not  see  as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16 : 7) If you ever feel overlooked for some reason, know that David felt the same. The day the prophet Samuel came to anoint one of Jesse’s sons for the throne, David’s family sent him out to the field. They didn’t see in David what God saw. He wasn’t considered worthy enough to even be considered by Samuel. David was overlooked and ignored until God reminded Samuel that man’s opinions do not determine one’s destiny. God Almighty is the One who ordained us. God Almighty is the One who says that when He begins a good work in us, He will be faithful to complete it. God Almighty is the One who makes the least one suddenly ascend to be the greatest. Don’t let the small-minded perspective of others around you become your lim...

BELIEVE AND RECEIVE

Image
…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10 : 9 - 10) Jesus is a Savior worth having. He is so rare that no other like Him has ever existed. He is so capable that nothing is impossible for Him. He is so reliable that He has never disappointed one person who chose to trust in Him. He is so loving that when everyone else has given up on you, when no one else sees any good thing in you, He reaches out His hand and says, “I choose this one.” He is so good that, if you have not accepted Him as Savior, He is waiting with outstretched arms. Today’s verse tells us how to become a child of God, to accept Him as Savior. If you believe in your heart that Jesus exists, that He came to die on the cross to forgive your sins and that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. If you ...

THE "I" ISSUE

Image
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down  our  lives for the brethren. (1 John 3 : 16) Many people today suffer from serious “I” problems. They have a chronic condition that plagues their everyday lives. It manifests itself in some persistent symptoms: The way that “I” want it. The way that “I” see it. The way that “I” think. The way that “I” feel. The way that “I” want to do things. Christians often trip over that “I” issue. Real unity requires real sacrifice, but “I” is the enemy of unity. “I” demands its own way. “I” refuses to budge. “I” never prefers another. “I” is only interested in his own comfort or her personal agenda. Paul warns Timothy to be certain that church leaders are not self-willed (Titus 1:7), and Peter warns against false teachers who are self-willed, insolent egoists who despise true authority (II Peter 2:10-11). Self-will sabotages unity. Self-will refuses to submit to God, our true authority, and ref...
